Thomas Scandrett deceased effects under £450 died 24 February 1858.

 

In the name of God, Amen.  I Thomas Scandrett of Lisadian, in the Parish of Hillsoborough and County Down, being of sound mind and judgement, to make this my last will and testament, in the following manner with the approval of the Marquis of Devonshire or his Agent I leave and bequeath to my son Thomas Henry all the property which I may possess or be entitled to at my decease consisting of Houses, lands and chattels subject to the following restrictions  my Thomas Henry pay the sums hereafter stated to each of my children out of my property above mentioned and that he shall give security for the same to my Executors this my Will is that all my just debts if any at my decease be paid I leave and bequeath to my daughter Jane the sum of £100 sterling.  I leave and bequeath to my son James the sum of one hundred pounds sterling for which he is to receive a legal interest from my decease until he is twenty one years of age when the amount is to be paid to him.  I leave and bequeath to my son Moses Mercer at present in Australia the sum of fifty pounds sterling.  I nominate, constitute and appoint my son Thomas Henry and my son-in-law Thomas McLeavy also Thomas Scandrett of Ballyknock and Henry Heron of Dromore to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament.  In witness whereof I have subscribed my hand and seal this 12thday of January in the year of our Lord One thousand one hundred and fifty eight.

In Her Majesty’s Court of Probate , The District Registry of Belfast, 

 

I James Titterington of Lisadian in the County of Down, Gentleman, having a conscientious objection to the taking of an Oath do solemnly affirm that I am one of the subscribing Witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Thomas Scandrett late of Lisadian in the County of Down, Farmer deceased, the said will being hereunto annexed bearing date the 12thday of January 1858 and that the said testator executed the said will on the day of the date thereof by signing his name at the foot or end thereof as the same now now appears thereon in the presence of me and of Robert Scandrett the other subscribed witness thereto both of us being present at the same time and we thereupon attested and subscribed the said will was written by one at my own house and afterwards taken to the testator’s residence where he executed and I and said Robert Scandrett attested same with a different pen and different ink from that which the will was written with.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Nancy Titterington Spinster of the Thompson Memorial Home Lisburn in the County of Antrim made this fifth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and eighty six.  I hereby revoke all Wills by me at any time heretofore made.  I appoint Felix Booth Simms linen Hall, Belfast County of Antrim to be my Executor and I direct that all my just debts and funeral and Testamentary Expenses shall be paid as soon as possible after my decease.  I hereby give and bequeath unto Mary Titterington of Majors Court Bridge Street, Lisburn, Widow of my late brother William Titterington, the sum of ten pounds sterling.  I hereby give and bequeath unto my niece Anne Titterington Spinster daughter of above, named William and Mary Titterington of Major’s Court, Bridge Street, Lisburn, the sum of Ten pounds Sterling.  The residue of all monies and property of whatsoever kind, I may die poss asset of I leave and give unto my sister, Mary Megarry wife of Samuel Megarry late of 13 Kearneys Buildings, Ballymacarrett, Belfast.  In cade the said Mary Megarry pre-deceases me then I leave Rebecca Megarry, Spinster daughter of said Mary Megarry myResiduary legatee.

The Probate of the Will and Codicil of the Referend James Titterington late of Gracehill in the County of Antrim Moraavian Minister deceased who died on or about 18 January 1868 at Gracehill aforesaid granted 29 April 1868 at Dublin in Ireland to George Henry Moxon of Gracehill aforesaid Moravian Minister one of the Executors was sealed at the Principal Registry London.

This is the last will and testament of me, Rebecca Ellis, of Corcreeny in the Parish of Hillsborough and County of Down.  Widow.  Firstly it is my will and desire that my Executors herein after named shall after my demise sell my farm, stock, crop, chattels, all and singular my effects whatsoever except such as shall be hereafter named and that my said Executors shall therewith pay all my first and lawful debts, Funeral Expenses V and shall then divide the residue, if any, equally between my five daughters or the survivors of them share and share alike namely, Emma, Henriatta, Matilda, Anna and Augusta and it is also my will and desire that my Executors shall hold and retain my daughter Emma Lockyer’s share or portion or one fifth of the whole and therewith pay to her weekly monthly such portion of her said share as they may think best.  Furthermore, I also give and bequeath to my said daughter Emma Lockyer my bed upstairs and one half of my wearing apparel.  I also will and bequeath to my daughter Henriatta Hanna my bed in the room downstairs, together with the other and remaining half of my wearing apparel.  I also bequeath to my granddaughter Annie Hanna my chest or set of drawers.  I also leave and bequeath to my son-in-law John James Hanna my large armchair.  I now name and appoint Jonathan Turner of Ballykeel-Artifinny Parish of Hillsborough and County of Down, and Henry Brereton of Corcreeny same Parish and County to be and to act as my Executors.  Signed in the presence of these my witnesses and they in my presence and at my request and in the presence of each other this 14th day of July, 1886.

WILL FOR THOMAS HENRY SCANDRETT DOD 1902

 

This is the last Will and Testament of Thomas Henry Scandrett of Lisadian in the County of Down, Farmer.  I hereby appoint my wife and my son Thomas Scandrett and Robert Tollerton of Bow Street, Lisburn to be my Executors.  I will and bequeath all that I may die possessed of whether real or personal property to my dear wife for the remainder of her natural life and after her decease I will and bequeath all my said real or personal property to my son Thomas Scandrett subject to his paying my daughter Elizabeth Scandrett the sum f three hundred and fifty pounds (£350)  Dated this 30th day of June 1902.

I, John Walker of Corcreeny in the parish of Hillsborough and County Down, farmer do make and publish this as and for my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me.  I nominate and appoint my dear wife Margaret and my son Thomas Alexander executors hereof.  I give devise and bequeath to my said dear wife during the natural term of her life my farm in Corcreeny together with all crops, furniture, implements chattels and effects and on her decease I allow my said farm furniture, crops, implements, chattels, and effects to my said son Thomas Alexander absolutely provided always and I declare this my will to be that should my said wife Margaret, marry and cease to remain my widow she is to cease to have any interest under this my will and said farm furniture crops implements chattels and effects are thereupon to go and become the property of my said son Thomas Alexander.  I give and bequeath to my son John T Walker the sum of three hundred pounds sterling in addition to any sum I may have advanced him or paid for or to him. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary the sum of seven hundred pounds sterling together with my four houses in Renfrew street in the City of Belfast.  I give devise, bequeath to my daughter Anna Elliza the sum of  seven hundred pounds sterling  together with my four houses in Clementine Street in the City of Belfast.  My  will is that while my daughters live with their mother in my residence on my said farm that they shall pay to their mother the interest and income of their respective legacy of seven hundred pounds as and for their support for clothing and maintenance.
