The Titteringtons of Northern Ireland
William Thompson Titterington
William was descended from James born 1735 who was the first Titterington Moravian Minister – see Chart Wb3 (i). He was born on 29th June, 1846 in Bridgetown, Barbados to Moravian missionaries, James Henry Titterington and Henrietta Cobbett Thompson. James Henry had been born in Gracehill, Ballymena.

William attended school in Pudsey and attended a Moravian College from 1863-64 and by 1871 he was a teacher there.

William became a Moravian Minister and in 1880 he married Ellen Couchman. In 1883 they had a son, James Hugh Titterington who was born in England. After living in Devon, in 1891 William returned to Pudsey as a Moravian Minister to become Head of Fulneck Boys Boarding School.

He is thought to be the Founder of Fulneck Golf Course.
​
William died on 24thSeptember, 1915.
James Hugh Titterington
James, son of William Thompson Titterington and Ellen was an officer in the Indian army.
​
In the London Gazette, 8 April, 1919, it states that the King had approved the admission of the James Hugh Titterington, an officer, to the Indian Army Re-serve of Officers on completion of his period of probation. He was admitted as a 2ndLieutenant to the General List on21st Mar. 1918, but to rank from 27th April 1918.
