The Titteringtons of Northern Ireland
ALAN
Alan is a major contributor to the research undertaken to find the Titterington Ancestral roots. Alan's Titterington blood line derives from his mother, Ivy. He was born near Preston in 1950 and spent five years in the RAF. He then worked in the field of Electrical Engineering for the next 25 years.
During a two year period as a service engineer he was called to Macclesfield to service some equipment. Seeing a sign for a place called Tytherington he called at the local library to find out more about this variation of his mother's maiden name. Thus he was hooked, like so many of us!
Twelve months working in London saw him making many visits to St Katherine's House and the library of the Church of LDS, as he started to build up the source material for a single name study.

Alan, although enjoying his retirement in Spain his zest to delve into the Ancestral roots of the Titteringtons has not abated. Although he is not descended from the Northern Ireland branch he believes it is possible to make a connection back to a common ancestor in the 1640 time period in Clapham, Yorkshire. And so, his quest continues.
