Moira Town

Moira is a pretty country town in the district of Lisburn in County Down.  Historically, it is renowned for the Battle of Moira when three tribal kings contested the area.  This proved to be the largest battle in Ireland's history.  In 1998 it suffered a car bomb planted by Republicans outside the Police Station.  McCartneys Family Butchers of 140 years and winners of various National Food Awards, have served to bring much fame to Moira.
