Morris Maxey Titterington

​

Morris was was the son of George Alfred Titterington (3 Jul 1864 - 21 Jan 1943), who was Daniel's son.  Daniel became a renowned citizen of Dallas as a Farmer and stock raiser.  Morris  was born in Lamar Texas on 20th July, 1891 and graduated from Bliss Electrical School in Washington, DC in 1913.

Morris Maxey Titterington was born in Paris, Lamar, Texas on 20 July 1891.  His family soon moved to Dallas Texas.  In 1913 he graduated from Bliss Electrical School in Washington D.C.

In 1924 Morris invented The Earth Inductor Compass (EIC), used by Charles Lindbergh on his trans-Atlantic flight.

​

On 11th July, 1928 he was piloting a plane which crashed into a side of a mountain near Snyder, Schuylkill, Pennsylvania.  His fiancé, Bernice Gamble Andrews was on board with him.  Benice was an actress who worked in Hollywood under the name of Patricia Perry.  Morris is buried in Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas.

WA 8 MORRIS MAXEY titterington  b 1891 A

Dr Jesse Benton Titterington was born on 12th March, 1868 son of Daniel Titterington and Kate Bentley.  He attended Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and Belvue Medical College in New York.  He practised medicine in Dallas.  

 

He was a retired Physician when he died after a long illness, a in a Dallas hospital.  

Kate Titterington died on 15th April, 1935at the age of 88.  Her husband, Daniel had died in 1910.  She left an estimated estate of $80,000.
