Down will made 17 Sep 1768 proved 7 November 1772.

James titterington of Hillsborough Parish, Co. Down to be buried in The Brethrens Burying Ground.   All lands & chattels to be equally between wife Mary, daughter Margaret eldest son James & youngest son Alexander.  Son James is abroad, his share including in it what cash and goods he ?(James) left behind him in Gracehillî is to lie in hands of wife till claimed.

Fraternal Messenger 1853. Brief Notices Concerning the Moravian Society at Kilwarlin

Transcript gave occupation as a weaver and that he was Church of England and Joined the Moravians in 1755.  The first mention of Kilwarlin is contained in the following extract ìMay 27th 1752:  Br Sims went after preaching at Blaneys Bush to County Down, and preached at the house of James Titterington (a nice man) residing at Kilwarlin. 

Wb3ii The Will of  Rebecca Ellis dod October, 1888

This is the last will and testament of me, Rebecca Ellis, of Corcreeny in the Parish of Hillsborough and County of Down.  Widow.  

 

Firstly it is my will and desire that my Executors herein after named shall after my demise sell my farm, stock, crop, chattels, all and singular my effects whatsoever except such as shall be hereafter named and that my said Executors shall therewith pay all my first and lawful debts, Funeral Expenses V and shall then divide the residue, if any, equally between my five daughters or the survivors of them - share and share alike namely, Emma, Henrietta, Matilda, Anna and Augusta and it is also my will and desire that my Executors shall hold and retain my daughter Emma Lockyer’s share or portion or one fifth of the whole and therewith pay to her weekly monthly such portion of her said share as they may think best.  Furthermore, I also give and bequeath to my said daughter Emma Lockyer my bed upstairs and one half of my wearing apparel.  I also will and bequeath to my daughter Henriatta Hanna my bed in the room downstairs, together with the other and remaining half of my wearing apparel. I also bequeath to my granddaughter Annie Hanna my chest or set of drawers.  I also leave and bequeath to my son-in-law John James Hanna my large armchair. 

 

I now name and appoint Jonathan Turner of Ballykeel-Artifinny Parish of Hillsborough and County of Down, and Henry Brereton of Corcreeny same Parish and County to be and to act as my Executors. 

 

Signed in the presence of these my witnesses and they in my presence and at my request and in the presence of each other this 14thday of July, 1886.
