The Titteringtons of Northern Ireland
GLENN
My motivation for family research was, I guess, just an attempt to learn of my family connections and to locate relatives. My father talked very little of his family. My parents left Ireland in 1954, and I grew up in the USA not knowing anything of my family roots.
I knew my father had an uncle named Sam Titterington, and that the farm my father grew up on, in Lurganville, he referred to as the "Titterington Farm.". Through research I learned that Sam was my grandfather's half-brother, and the farm was originally owned by my great-great-grandfather Richard Titterington. The Titteringtons and Haslems (aka Heslim, Hazelum) have many connections over the generations.
