Wa5 Matthew c. 1712 and Mary
This tree focuses on the family of Matthew, a son of Richard, and his wife Mary. He was mentioned in his father’s will in 1744.
Mathew and Mary had four sons, Richard, Mathew, James and George. They were all mentioned in the will of their grandmother, Ellinor.
Matthew’s son Richard, lived in Tullylish, Clare and it is from his will that we are able to learn of his family. He dies when all his children are aged under 16 years. He made the will on 7 March, 1776 and it was proved on 4th June, 1776.
Mathew's son, Matthew was an executor of his brother Richard’s will, and his own will was probated in 1806.
One might assume that Richard died relatively young as his sons, Matthew and James are both under 15 years of age. His father-in-law, James McMurry was an Executor of his will together with Matthew Titterington of Corcreeny. Matthew may have been Richard's brother, or possibly his father.
From this will we also learn that both his wife and daughter were named Anne, and the witnesses were George Titterington and Joseph Thompson. George is likely to have been Richard’s younger brother.
It is from Matthew’s son James, (b.c. 1739) that the branch of John and Mary Megarry descends – see Wa6.
