CITY CEMETERY, BELFAST

This is one of the oldest public cemeteries in Belfast.  It is found on the Falls Road. It was first opened in August, 1869.  There are no new graves available, but burials may take place in existing graves.  Funding has been received from the Heritage Project to protect and enhance the history of the site.  A large area has been designated for the burial of the poor, including many thousands of children and no headstones for them exist here.
